My name is Marc Torres and I have been working in IT for the past 20 years (since 1997). Born and raised in Barcelona, I have worked for quite a few companies (see LinkedIn profile) mostly as a freelancer in Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland. I have been living & working for a few years now in Zürich, Switzerland.

Most of my work has been around UNIX and databases as a developer, DBA and systems administrator. In OS terms I have worked with:

• Solaris 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11
• Linux RHEL 2, 3, 5, 6 & 7
• HP-UX 11.11
• AIX 7.1
• zOS / IBM mainframe
• Windows (all versions)
• Mac OS X

In regards to databases I have worked with:

• Oracle 7.3, 8, 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g & 12c
• SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 & 2012
• Sybase
• DB2 on zOS
• MySQL
• PostgreSQL
• SQLite
• and I bet a few more I have forgotten about…

As far as programming languages are concerned, I have developed mostly with:

• SQL, PLSQL and T-SQL
• C and Pro*C
• Perl
• Python
• shell
